Why?
Why do you need concrete mix? Well without this you won't have the polished concrete that you've always dreamed of!
Why our concrete? This is not standard concrete. Standard concrete is not reinforced with glass fibre and has a very high aggregate content which means that it has to be MUCH thicker and heavier and is also extremely difficult to polish up.
We have developed our mix specifically as a decorative concrete, that is hard-wearing, durable whilst being easy to achieve a polished finish.
Precast Worktop Mix
Our GFRC Concrete Mix is a specially formulated premium high-strength concrete designed to produce highly polished PRECAST concrete.
• Suitable for indoor and outdoor use
• Suitable for precast concrete worktop, countertop, table, bar or sink projects.
• Designed to be cast as thin as 18mm
• Cast the "upside down" into a smooth mould

Add Smoothing Paste
Why?
When you have cast your concrete there will inevitably be some small holes (pin holes) and sometimes larger holes.
Despite being a bit unsightly, you can't leave these on surfaces which are going to be used for food.
So this is where our colour-matched smoothing paste comes in handy!
This is very similar to our concrete mix but contains far smaller aggregates allowing the paste to fill those pinholes and blend seamlessly into the overall concrete finish.

Add Extra Reinforcement
Why?
If you plan on having any openings in your concrete then this can create a weakness at the thinnest points in the concrete.
So to counter this you need to add some reinforcement. Fibreglass reinforcement bars are perfect for this.
Add 4 bars per opening so that they can be placed beneath the surface of the concrete as in the above image.

Make Polishing Easier
Why?
When it comes to polishing your concrete you essentially have two options - brute force or finesse!
Brute force means hard graft and grinding the concrete and getting a fine finish using this method takes a bit of practice.
So instead we recommend the more gentle approach using our Etch & Clean System.
Our Concrete Etch & Clean Solution concrete preparation solution is a highly concentrated mixture of non-fuming acidic compounds and cleaning agents, specifically developed to prepare freshly cast concrete surfaces to allow final sanding and sealing.
The solution immediately goes to work on the freshly cast concrete surface, attacking any laitance and thereby opening up the surface to give the concrete a texture of very fine sand paper. Fine bubbles of foam are produced during the process. Once the bubbles have ceased, etching is complete.

Add NEUTRALISER
Why?
This is the second part of the Etch & Clean System.
It stops the Etch Solution in its tracks by neutralising it, hence the name!
Our Etch & Clean Neutralising Solution is designed specifically to counteract our Concrete Etch & Clean Solution for the preparation of newly cast concrete ready for sanding and sealing.
Using the two products in conjunction with each other makes preparation of your new concrete surface both easier and faster.
After acid washing using Etch & Clean, rinse the surface with Etch & Clean Neutralising solution to remove all acid traces.
Your new concrete surface will then be ready for the application of Concrete Sealer.
The product is ready to use, do not dilute.

Seal Your Concrete!

Concrete Lab Polyurethane Sealer is a two-component product based on water-based polyurethane resin, which creates a durable impregnating coating that is both mechanically and chemically resistant, and provides effective protection against moisture and dirt.
It does not turn yellow and is resistant to UV radiation, which guarantees long-lasting surface aesthetics.
Its advantage is ease of cleaning - even heavy dirt is easy to remove.

Wax Your Concrete!
Why?
Once your sealer has fully cured, applying Concrete Wax is the perfect way to add an extra layer of protection to your concrete surface.
Our wax is easy to apply, quick to buff, and helps shield the sealer from everyday wear, spills, and minor scratches.
It adds a beautiful satin sheen that enhances the look of your concrete without making it overly glossy, and it’s simple to reapply as needed to keep your surface looking fresh.
Regular waxing not only prolongs the life of the sealer but also makes cleaning even easier.
