Application Steps:

Prepare the Surface: Ensure the substrate is stable, clean, and dry.
- Self-levelling compound: OPTIONAL - see our floor preparation guidance for more information
- Embed Mesh: embed the supplied fibreglass mesh roll into the self-levelling compound whilst wet. Sand any high spots once dry.

Apply Primer: Strengthens adhesion and seals the base.

Install Mesh & Tape: Reinforce joints and large areas.

Apply First Coat: Spread a thin, even base coat of microcement. Let dry and sand lightly.

Apply Second Coat: Add a finishing coat for colour depth and strength.

Seal the Surface: Protect with Concrete Lab Sealer for a stain- and water-resistant finish.

Is the microcement water resistant?
On its own no. We highly recommend you apply our sealer to make it water resistant.
Does microcement stain?
Once the sealer (purchased separately) is applied the microcement is stain-proof.
I've never done microcment before. How easy is it?
We've designed our microcement to be as simple to apply as possible.

What other products will I need?
We sell kits specifically tailored for most projects. They will contain all ancillary items such as sealer and fibreglass mesh.

How long does the whole process take?
It's generally a couple of days. One coat per day, so two days for 2 coats, then a day or two for sealer application.
Are any special tools required?
No but we highly recommend our Microcement Spatula which has a flexible blade and makes application REALLY easy.
Also when it comes to sealing, we sell a Concrete Sealing Kit which makes the measuring out process and application a doddle!
