Never stuck, never guessing

The honest bit

It's not the kitchen you can't stand. It's the thought of ripping it out.

An installer quote can run £150–£250/m² — sometimes more. Microcement goes on at 2–3mm, straight over tiles, plaster, plywood or the worktop you've already got. No demolition, no skip, no weeks of disruption.

The 12-month product guarantee

Every kit is covered for 12 months from your date of purchase against adhesion failure and the product dissolving or softening. See cracking specifically? We'll send a free repair pack matched to your product — usually a reply within 24–48 hours. This is on top of your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, not instead of them.

Questions people ask

Will my worktop even take it?

At 2–3mm, it goes straight over tiles, plaster, plywood, timber or existing concrete. Prep requirements differ by surface — check the guides for yours before you order.

It looks harder than it is — is it?

We don't ask you to be skilled, we ask you to follow the steps. Every stage has a video, and the overwhelming majority of our customers had never done this before.

Will it stand up to everyday kitchen use?

Our microcement is waterproof and once sealed with Concrete Lab Sealer it's built for stain resistance and everyday durability. We'd still use a trivet under hot pans, same as any surface.

What's in the kit?

Microcement (2-coat pack), primer, fibreglass mesh tape and Concrete Lab Sealer sized to your kit — everything needed bar your own trowel which we also sell as part of our application tool kit bundle.

What if it cracks or fails?

Every kit carries our 12-month product guarantee — it covers adhesion failure and the product dissolving or softening. See cracking specifically? We'll send a free repair pack matched to your product, no argument. Usually a reply within 24–48 hours. This is on top of your statutory rights, not instead of them.

See our guarantee policy here.

Should I order a sample first?

If you're not certain on colour, yes — it's the same formula as the full kit, so what you see is what you get.

Who's behind this

Made by two people who hit the same wall

Concrete Lab was founded by Toby Hurst and Chris Brooks-Dowsett — two friends with a shared passion for design, craftsmanship and problem-solving. They kept running into the same wall: getting a high-end concrete finish was difficult and expensive, and the materials available to anyone outside the trade were a mess of incompatible products with no instructions. So they made their own — better materials, honest advice, and the guidance to go with them — and manufactured them in Britain. The company operates from Penarth, South Wales.
