Ordered the micro cement for work tops. Really easy to use. The people are really helpfull is you have any questions!
They arrived quickly but one unfortunately broke, not that it’s an issue. The colours differences can be quite subtle, depending on the light, so it’s handy that they’re a decent size. The finish was lovely as well so you can really get a feel of the final results. Overall I’m very pleased with them and can’t wait to get started.
The samples sent out are a good size and give a clear idea of colour and finish. Concrete Lab have also been very helpful answering pre purchase questions.
Concrete Lab is the place to start and stay for Microcement DIY'ers. I've just finished a 35sqm project on my kitchen and living room floor, the product is excellent and really easy to work with. But what makes this brand so special are the videos and help they offer, I couldn't have taken this project on with confidence without that. Toby is always on hand to chat you through things, how rare is that these days? Highly recommend and will be using for the rest of my house renovation in the future.
The 5sqm kit is easier to mix than the 10sqm kit, which didn't mix as well and also starts going off before finished spreading on the wall, leaving rougher patches that can't be easily blended in.
Also the sanding is very tedious and causes a lot of dust, something to be aware of.
Excellent quality products and easy to follow instructions
Great product easy to use clear instructions and great customer service
It was great stuff
I have used microcement many times
And this is the most looking concrete finish I have achieved
The samples arrived promptly and provided a decent impression of the final colour in situ. I would maybe have preferred a slightly bigger sample to get a better idea of how it will look on the floor. Hopefully I will achieve as smooth a finish as the sample!
We ordered a selection of samples and I am glad we did. We are about to order a colour that was on the iffy list but looks amazing in real life!
Fast delivery and easy to use website to select your package. It was really helpful ordering samples too!
I’ve never attempted anything like this before ( just a diy-er ) but it worked out ok. I would however recommend making sure the mesh lies absolutely flat and preferably stuck down to primer under the first coat as it is prone to ‘floating' and rippling otherwise. Also, work fast when applying the second coat and don't overwork it. I won’t make that mistake for the next room. :). Richard Baker
